Buffalo Bills returning for 6th season on WMML

FOX Sports Radio 97.9FM/AM 1230, the Glens Falls region's home for the Dan Patrick Show, Rich Eisen and more, will carry the Buffalo Bills once again in 2017.

All 16 regular season games will air on FOX Sports Radio 97.9FM/AM 1230, in addition to the final preseason game on Thursday, August 31st against the Detroit Lions as we ensure proper reception of the game broadcast prior to the regular season.

With new head coach Sean McDermott and returning stars like Lesean McCoy, the 2017 Buffalo Bills hope to end their playoff drought, sitting at 17 years without making the playoffs.  But making the playoffs will be tough as the Bills face strong teams like the New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos, Atlanta Falcons in addition to their AFC East opponents in the Jets, Dolphins and Patriots.  

All broadcasts will begin two hours before kickoff with the Buffalo Bills Pregame Show, hosted by Howard Simon (Mike Schoop and Chris 'The Bulldog' Parker for the Thursday night game) as he and other members of the local Buffalo media analyze the upcoming game, and highlight major stories unfolding in the National Football League.  

Play-by-play broadcaster John Murphy takes over 30 minutes prior to kickoff as he interviews head coach Sean McDermott and break down the keys to the game with his analyst partner Mark Kelso.  

After the game, listen for the Buffalo Bills post-game report for a breakdown of the game, scores from across the National Football League, press conferences from the coach and key players, and reactions from Buffalo Bills fans.

Studio broadcasts will emanate from the WGR-550 studios in Buffalo.

Mets return to FOX Sports Radio 1230 for fourth straight year

FOX Sports Radio 1230 announces they will be continuing their partnership with the New York Mets.

The New York Mets and Adirondack Broadcasting, FOX Sports Radio 1230's parent company, have signed a deal allowing 162 regular season games and 2 preseason games to air on FOX Sports Radio 1230 during the 2015 season.

The two preseason games will take place on April 3rd and 4th, as the New York Mets take on the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park.

Then on April 6th, the New York Mets begin their 2015 regular season campaign as they travel to Washington to face the Nationals at 4:05PM.

The broadcasts will feature Ryan Randazzo as the new host of the Mets Extra pre and postgame shows.  Randazzo comes from Chicago, where he handled talk and sports anchor duties for CBS Radio's WSCR-AM and WBBM-AM.  In addition, he did work for the Chicago White Sox, the Big Ten Network, ESPN and various other sports clubs and networks.  Randazzo replaces Seth Everett, who handled the duties for Mets flagship WOR last year.

Howie Rose and Josh Lewin return to describe the action on the field from the booth for the fourth straight year.

Coverage for all regular season Mets games will begin 40 minutes prior to the scheduled first pitch.

The Buffalo Bills are back on 1230 FOX Sports Radio

1230 FOX Sports Radio and the Buffalo Bills Radio Network are pleased to announce the second year of their partnership, allowing for radio broadcasts of the Buffalo Bills to air in the Glens Falls area in 2013.

The agreement allows for all 16 regular season games, 4 preseason games and any potential postseason games to be heard in the Glens Falls area on 1230 FOX Sports Radio, WMML-AM, or in which there is a conflict with New York Mets baseball, will air on 1410 CBS Sports Radio, WENU-AM.  Game broadcasts will also include pregame and post-game broadcasts produced from flagship station WGR in Buffalo.

In 2013, the Buffalo Bills hope to rebound from last year's 6-10 record with the addition of their 1st Round draft pick, E.J. Manuel.  The Bills will face their AFC East Rivals, including the Jets, the Patriots and the Dolphins.  In other highlights in the 2013 season, the Buffalo Bills will face the Super Bowl Champions, the Baltimore Ravens, on September 29th.  The Bills also will play host to the Atlanta Falcons in their annual home game in Toronto on December 1st.

Howard Simon will anchor pregame broadcasts, with John Murphy and Mark Kelso handling the play-by-play.  Mike Schoop and the Bulldog host the post-game show, which includes coach and player media conferences and game reactions from listeners.

This is Adirondack Broadcasting's 2nd year broadcasting Buffalo Bills football, and joins the New York Mets and High School Football/Basketball/Hockey in Adirondack Broadcasting's commitment towards live sports on the radio.

Cowgill's Grand Slam Caps Mets Explosive Opening Day Offense

It was a Spring Training of sorts for the New York Mets.

At first, it was planned to have Johan Santana as their opening day starter, similar to last year when he started the season with a win over the Atlanta Braves.

However, that plan didn't work out the way the Mets would have hoped.

Instead Terry Collins went to Jonathan Niese, who went 13-9 last year with a 3.40 ERA, to kick off the Mets season against the San Diego Padres on Monday.  Despite surrendering a base hit on the first pitch of the game, Niese and the Mets made sure that the base runner wouldn't score.

After a quiet bottom of the first inning, the bottom of the order got things going as Rubin Tejada and Niese would bring home the first runs of the season.

In the 3rd and 4th innings, Byrd was the word as Matt Byrd brought home a run in each inning, helping the Mets jump out to a 7-1 lead.

The game would be sealed in the 7th inning when the Mets loaded the bases.  Jordany Valdespin, who showed he had power last year, grounded and reached on-base on a fielder's choice when they opted to force-out the runner going home.  Then Collin Cowgill came to the plate, and with a single swing of the bat, Cowgill became the RBI leader for the Mets this season as he hit one that barely made it over the home-run line, making the score 11-2.

Scott Rice came in to finish the game for the Mets with a non-save situation, and fanned two of his three batters as the Mets defeat the San Diego Padres, 11-2.

Mets Starting Pitcher Line:
Jonathan Niese (W, 1-0): 6.2 IP, 4H, 2R, 2ER, 2BB, 4K, 1HR   ERA: 2.70

Batter Woes: Of the nine starters, only two did not record a hit.  Lucas Duda struck out once and reached base twice on walks.  But Ike Davis did not reach base at all, striking out 4 out of the 5 times he was at the plate.  Jay Bruce of the Cincinatti Reds had a similar fate in his game against the Los Angeles Angels with 4 K's on 5 at bats, however he did reach base on a walk.

Base-Thief: David Wright leads the majors with 2 steals after he took advantage of two curve balls early in the game, helping to propel the Mets offense.

Around The Majors: Bryce Harper is not the only player with a 2.000 slugging percentage after one game.  He is joined with Justin Maxwell of the Houston Astros, who had two triples in their first game against the Texas Rangers.

Next Mets Game: Matt Harvey makes his season debut for the Mets as he goes up against Clayton Richard of the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night.  First pitch is schedule at 7:10pm, with Mets Extra with Ed Coleman getting the coverage started at 6:30pm on AM1230 FOX Sports Radio.
