When the Miami Heat went into the half only down by 6, you had to think they were in prime shape for a comeback. When the gap widened to 15 at the end of the 3rd quarter, you had to wonder what LeBron James had anything up his sleeves.
When the final whistle blew, you sat there and asked yourself: "Did the Spurs really blow out the reigning champs by 36?" Then you followed it up with the second question of "Did the Spurs really shut the Heat starters down, shooting only 18/53?"
The answer, to both, is a resounding "Yes."
LeBron shot 7/21, and grabbed 11 rebounds as he scored 15 points, one less than Dwyane Wade, w scored a team-high 16 points. Mario Chalmers was kept off the scoreboard, and so too was Udonis Haslem. Mike Miller brought about the lone positive for the Heat on this day, scoring 15 points on perfect 5/5 three-point shooting.
It was a magical night from behind the arch for the Spurs, going 16/32 from downtown. Danny Green had 7 of those threes, scoring 27 points to lead all players. Gary Neal scored 24 points, and Kawhi Leonard and Tim Duncan contributed with double-doubles.
The series stays in San Antonio for Game 4 on Thursday. Tip-off is just after 9PM locally on 10ABC WTEN.
